Edison Festival Garden Market

     The Edison Ford Garden Shoppe will be host to dozens of plant vendors for a weekend of fun, great plants and activities.

Some of the vendor items include:  garden market setup 2014

  •  Flowering tropical shrubs
  • Bamboo
  • Succulents
  • Vegetables and herbs
  • Fruit trees
  • Heritage shrubs like yesterday today tomorrow, lady of the night, angel trumpet

This is a chance to find some wonderful and unusual tropical varieties at great prices and from the growers who produced them and can talk about the plant details and care.

Edison Annual Garden Market, November 17 & 18, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

The 5th Annual Edison Garden Market attracts plant vendors throughout Florida to sell unusual and heritage plants, orchids, herbs, trees and garden merchandise. The event also includes workshops, food, music and other activities.

 The Edison Garden Market is a great event for family and friends and is FREE to the public. Space is still available for plant growers, fruit producers, garden art and garden supply vendors.

      NEW to the Garden Market is the Turkey Treasures Tent with discounts on holiday ornaments, clearance Museum Store items, garden objects and plants in need of a little TLC. Find bargain treasures for the holidays.

      The Garden Shoppe is open daily 9:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. with Garden & Estate Tours on Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. Members always receive a 10% discount.

Edison Garden Market Vendor Space Available

     The 5th annual Edison Garden Market has space available for plant growers, fruit producers, garden art and garden supply vendors. The Edison Garden Market attracts nearly 1,000 gardeners and visitors looking for unique and historical garden items including flowering trees, tropical plants and fruits, bougainvillea, orchids, roses, bromeliads, palms, cactus, herbs, bonsai, bamboo, fruit, ginger, and butterfly plants as well as garden art, home and gardening supplies. Thanks to everyone who took part in the 2010 Edison Garden Market – shoppers, vendors and volunteers!  We had a great weekend with perfect weather and a lot of lucky shoppers went home with unique and exciting plants and garden wares for their yard and house.  Mark you calendars for next year – the Edison Garden Market will be held the weekend before Thanksgiving, Nov 19 and 20, 2011!!!

Thank you to all of our volunteers who helped make the Edison Garden Market a big success this year!  Your time and efforts were much needed and much appreciated.  We couldn’t have done it without you!

The forecasters predict 83 degrees and sunny skies for this weekend – perfect for getting out of the house and joining us at the Edison Garden Market.  Vendors will be holding FREE gardening demonstrations on a variety of subjects, from rose cutting to bean sprouting to air layering.  Get here early to take advantage of several “early bird” discounts both Saturday and Sunday. You may even luck out and get a FREE herb or vegetable plant courtesy of our Estates Garden Shoppe.  Details on the class and tour schedules will be revealed Friday!

Here’s the latest list of special discounts and giveaways:

Estates Garden Shoppe – On both Saturday and Sunday, the first 10 people to stop by our table (next to the info booth) at 9:30 am will get a FREE basil plant.  The first 10 people to stop by our booth at 1:30 pm will get a FREE tomato plant.

Tradewinds Signature Botanicals rare purple desert rose (Adenium obtusum) : normally $35, will be $25 and the new thornless bougainvillea Vera Series in pink and irredescent purple in 10″ pots normally $20 will be $15.00

Hunter’s Leaves, Flowers & FeathersA one gallon elephant ear “Pink China” free with $10 purchase to the first 20 customers on Saturday. Selling apple, peach, plum and other fruit trees, jams, jellies, unique garden art, pottery, and butterfly plants.

Rege Malone Horticulture – Saturday: Get 3 one gallon butterfly plants for $10 (normally $4-5 each) to the first 20 customers.  Sunday: 2-for1 special on bromeliads while supplies last.  Normally $10 for one gallon, $25 for three gallon size.  Selling flowering tropicals, bromeliads, edibles, butterfly and garden plants.

Louisiana Iris Nurseryby 5 get 1 free – offered Saturday and Sunday.  Selling irises native to Florida – perfect for rain gardens or irrigated areas of your yard.  Can survive as far north as New York!

Megan Kissinger, an award-winning local artist, will be creating a new botanical illustration during the Edison Garden Market on Saturday.  Megan is the featured artist for this year’s Holiday Nights.  She’ll also be teaching several botanical illustration courses at the Estates this winter.  Her work was recently featured in the News-PressShe’ll start drawing at 10 am on Saturday – feel free to come by and talk to Megan as she works.
