Garden Talk: Growing Herbs

herbs jan 2016Join Senior Horticulturist, Debbie Hughes and Garden Shoppe Manager, Janice Schmidt and learn how to grow your own herbs for your culinary creations. Winter and Spring are the prime time to grow herbs in Florida. We will discuss using herbs in cooking, baking, teas, and just for the fragrance. This garden talk includes a tour of the Edison herb gardens, growing and harvesting strategies in raised beds, containers, or herb mounds, as well as scrumptious herbal recipes. Herbs will be available for sale in the Garden Shoppe – usual herbs as well as unusual herbs. Participants will receive a 20% discount in the Garden Shoppe.

Join Senior Horticulturist, Debbie Hughes and Garden Shoppe Manager Janice Schmidt to learn how to care for “the blossoms of the season” such as Amaryllis (Paper Whites & Bulbs), Poinsettia, Christmas Cactus, and Crown of Thorns (Edison’s Euphorbia rubber plant).
