     Edison Ford Garden Talks are a great way to see the Edison and Ford’s garden close up and to work with the Edison Ford garden staff. You will explore the most successful plants for the tropics and learn from our staff and guest experts about our favorites. There are always varieties for sale in the Edison Ford Garden Shoppe with a 20% discount for participants. Cost: Edison Ford Members FREE; non-members $5

      Join Tom Scannell, Bougainvillea Growers International (BGI) to learn how to make bougainvillea cutting plants (all participants will receive a cutting to take home), and how to care for this gorgeous plant. Scannell will discuss his own unique blend of fertilizer which Edison Ford uses on all its flowering plants.

      Learn from Debbie Hughes, Edison Ford Senior Horticulturalist and member of the RoseSociety, and guest speaker and noted rosarian, Pennie Crawford, about how to grow roses successfully in southwest Florida. The talk will include how to plant, what is the best soil mix, watering, fertilizing, pest control and what types of roses do best in our climate. The Garden Talk includes a walk to the historic rose gardens on the Edison and Ford Estates.
